Is Shade Acres on the water? Can you see the lake?

No. Shade Acres is not on the lake, and the lake is not visible from the campground. But we do have some fantastic public beaches in the area that are just a short drive from the campground. back to top

Do you have a pool?

We do not have a pool. But why would you want to swim in a poool when we have beautiful sand beaches just five minutes away? back to top

What activities are there for children at the campground?

We have a small playground for children, and African Safari Wildlife Park is just three miles away. It's very popular with the children. back to top

Do you have shady sites at your campground?

We sure do! We're known for our mature trees that provide plenty of shade and protection from the summer sun. back to top

What are your sites like?

Each of our sites is equipped with water and electric service. Each site also has a picnic table, fire ring, concrete patio, and plenty of shade.back to top

Can we bring our pet?

Pets are allowed with people camping in their RV's or motor homes. Pets are not allowed with tent campers or with anyone staying in our units. back to top

How many vehicles can we bring?

Each site or unit is limited to one vehicle. If you have additional vehicles or a boat, you can take advantage of the overflow parking we have available for that purpose. back to top

What is your cancellation policy?

No cancellations are permitted on any of our units (house, cottages, rental RV's, or rental mobile homes). If you have reserved a site and you cancel eight or more days in advance, we will refund all but $10.00. If you give us seven days' notice or less, we will refund all but $20.00. back to top

Do you sell firewood? How about ice?

Yes. At our office, firewood, ice, and pop are available for purchase. back to top

Do you accept personal checks in the mail?

What are your office hours?

The Shade Acres office is open every day from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. The office is closed for lunch from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. back to top

What if I arrive after the office closes?

If you are not checked in by the time we close the office, we will leave a welcome packet out for you which will contain a site map and the keys to your unit (if applicable). back to top
